Pyramid Solitaire: learn through an example

Make Pyramid Solitaire your next activity in the game library. Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Use the example below to understand a decision. Choose a comfortable screen position before beginning. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Pyramid, stock and waste; one stock recycle. Free solo play, no wagering.

Practice with a purpose

Choose one rule to keep in mind for this round. Apply it consistently rather than guessing what another version might allow. Use the example to check your reasoning.

What you need to achieve

Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Follow this game’s rules rather than another version’s.

A walkthrough of the rules

  1. Only uncovered cards are selectable. Pairs total 13; a king removes alone.
  2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
  3. Draw when useful.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

The controls to know

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. A new-round button replaces the current round.

Follow the example

An exposed queen pairs with an ace; a jack pairs with a 2. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Consider the next action carefully.

Avoid this misunderstanding

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
