Arrow Sudoku: what to know before playing

Open Arrow Sudoku, check the instructions and begin a round. Solve the Sudoku and make the digits on each arrow path sum to the digit in its circle. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Make your first input carefully and watch the result. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

This collection contains 8 puzzles. Progress is saved in this browser. The same puzzle can appear again; the collection is not labelled with calibrated difficulty levels.

Practice with a purpose

Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round. Refer to the controls when needed.

Your objective

Solve the Sudoku and make the digits on each arrow path sum to the digit in its circle. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Keep the controls in easy reach.

From the start of a round

  1. Select an editable cell.
  2. Enter a value using the keypad or keyboard; Notes stores candidates.
  3. Read the region, cage, arrow or outside clues alongside the normal constraints.
  4. Check entries verifies the completed board; Undo reverses your last input.
  5. New puzzle selects another included puzzle.

How to use the controls

Click or tap cells and the digit pad. Use Notes, Undo and Reveal selected. Large boards scroll inside the game. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Read the example below alongside these instructions.

Work through an example

A circle 7 may have an arrow containing 3 and 4 when the normal Sudoku rules also allow it. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Consider the next action carefully.

A common point of confusion

A full board must obey every extra rule. Reveal supplies assistance; it is not an earned deduction. Compare the situation with the worked example. Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal.
